Exploring the diverse range of roles in The Civil Service
The Public Appointments Service, together with Core, were launching “The Pitch” - a content series and competition to showcase that there is an exciting and engaging career await students in the Public Service. Foe were tasked with creating the range of video series to showcase these exciting careers to students, while also encouraging participation in “The Pitch” Competition.
We looked to profile a diverse range of careers and voices already working within the Public Sector, providing teachers with the video resources to showcase what a career in the Public Sector can be like. Our challenge was to get these messages across while shooting in stringent Level 5 Lockdown conditions.
We profiled three different members of the public service – a Customs Dog Handler, Emergency Medical Controller, and an Economist. Each video was edited in a student-friendly manner, along with social cutdowns. We also created a series of videos to encourage participation in “The Pitch” competition, where the students use their creativity to make their own video around the benefits of working in the Public Service. Using the brightly coloured, yet on-brand themes created from the ‘Teacher Resource Videos’, we profiled TV Presenter Zainab Boladale as she gave the students tips and encouragement around how to create their videos. Similarly, these were created in a wide range of sizes and outputs, including a version of each with Irish subtitles.
